Andreas Moser
is a Swiss biologist, animal filmmaker and TV presenter. He is known for his program «Netz Natur», Network Nature. In recognition of his merits in depicting animals and their connection with their habitat, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Zurich. Andreas Moser is not an energy specialist. Nor is he a traffic planner or an environmental scientist. But for over 40 years he has been observing flora and fauna around the world. That makes him a specialist in the development of our environment and the prospects for our future.
Nature is stronger
The corona pandemic has shown us that resolute and consistent action does not guarantee victory but is the only option of containing a changing threat. And hopefully one day erasing it. Climate change has been demonstrating it every day for years: the failure to act also shows consequences. They cannot be overlooked, even if we don’t want to see them. Moving away from fossil fuels is a pressing issue. Not only in terms of mobility but also in terms of generating energy for house and home and heating.
The future runs electric
Electricity is undoubtedly the best drive energy. E-mobility makes a significant contribution to achieving climate goals. In addition to consumers, who are increasingly opting for future-oriented mobility, it is primarily the politicians who are challenged. Many potential e-car drivers want to be able to charge their car in the public parking zone near their rented homes. Although Switzerland shows a far above-average commitment to e-mobility, there is hardly any charging on public ground. A rapid expansion in the cities has been scheduled. Switzerland wants to have 20,000 public charging stations in operation by 2025. At least that is the goal of roadmap elektromobilität. According to ich-tanke-strom.ch, there are currently just about 8000.
